Sheikh Muhammad Jamili

Ustadh Mohammad Jamili was born in Sanadaj in the province of Kurdistan in Iran. He began studying Islamic sciences at the age of 16, learning the rules of recitation of Quran, memorisation of the Quran, Shafi’i jurisprudence, self-purification, and Arabic Language. His studies continued from then and throughout his university years up until today. The majority of his studies have been based on private tuition in the UK with scholars from Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Egypt and other places around the globe. He was also blessed to spend time in Al Ahsa (Saudi Arabia) for short, intensive periods of time to study with senior Shafi’i and Hanafi scholars. He is blessed to hold an license (ijazah) in the seven variants of Quranic recitiaton and to have studied several texts in a variety of Islamic sciences, with some being put to memorisation, with a range of senior scholars of Islam that are living today such as Shaykh Yahya al-Mulla (Al Ahsa), Shaykh Samir an-Nass (Syria, Damascus), Shaykh Salim al-Khatib (Tarim, Yemen), Shaykh ‘Adil ash-Shu’aybi (Al Ahsa), Shaykh ‘Isam al-Khatib (Al Ahsa), Shaykh ‘Abdullah al-‘Adsani (Al Ahsa), may Allah preserve them all.

He teaches weekly classes in Shafi’i Fiqh, Aqidah, Shama’il and Self-rectification online. He also teaches al-Yaqut al-Nafis (an intermediate Shafi’i text) weekly with the Malaysian Society at the University of Sheffield and the 40 Nawawi Hadith fortnightly with the Islamic Society of the University of Sheffield. He also holds a Master of Pharmacy degree.
He is currently reciting the Quran from memorisation to Shaykh ‘AbdulRazaq Balhawan (Damascus, Syria) in the narration of Hafs and studying texts in Exegesis (Tafsir), Shafi’i jurisprudence, Inheritance Law, Principles of Jurisprudence, Idioms of Fiqh (Qawa’id ul-Fiqh), Hadith, Hadith Nomenclature (Mustalah), and Doctrine.
